The Tarremah Steiner School Hall

Community members were treated to a lovely afternoon of student activity and inspiring speeches last Friday, when the hall was officially named “The Tarremah Steiner School Hall”.

We were presented with an amazing display of the uses of the hall through a wide variety of student and class activities.

Speeches were made by Jane Bradshaw (P&F Committee), Mark Rickards (TSSF Council) and Yvette Breytenbach (Architect, Morrison & Breytenbach).

Each of these speakers brought a similar theme to their talk.

Jane spoke of the dreaming of Rudolf Steiner, and Tarremah parents 23 years ago, to create a school for students where they would be cared for in all ways.

Mark spoke of the generosity and contributions of the community to purchase the land and everyone working together to bring the hall into being.

The hall has now won 6 different awards and commendations, both in Tasmania and nationally. Have a look at these sites for details; Finally, Yvette spoke of the hall; its many uses, its innovation and how, now, it belongs to the school.

The job of the school and community is to ensoul this beautiful building and bring it to life. For without people, the building has no purpose.
